Ghana
Located outside of Accra, Beacon International School was established in 2005 with a handful of home-schoolers and now counts almost 200 children from the surrounding villages.
The teacher staff provides an environment where the children are taught the love of God as they pursue their education, as well as how to live peaceably with others.
Drawing on the strengths of both the Ghanaian and English national curricula, Beacon School pupils are given an international perspective as well as an appreciation of the beauty and potential in Ghanaian culture. The school’s Christian foundations underpin the ethos of the school and help to cultivate a welcoming and friendly environment. Both Ghanaians and children of other nationalities can benefit from the family atmosphere, and a strong sense of identity and belonging. Among the goals of Beacon School is to bring out the best in all the pupils, equip and prepare them for their lives in the future, as well as to establish Beacon School as a model of Christian education that focuses not only on academic excellence but also character development.
Every summer a team of YesWeServers travel from the USA to minister at Beacon International School.
